Wolverine confirmed for ProgPower Europe

2008-04-06

We are happy to announce that we will once again play at the ProgPower Europe festival. This time will be very special since we're playing two sets. On Sunday, October 5th, we'll play a "regular" one hour-set and two days before that, on October 3rd, we'll play the set we played when we opened the first edition of the festival back in 1999. This means that the set on Friday will be very "retro". It's gonna be very exciting for us to rediscover songs we haven't played in several years and hopefully our audience will think the same. See you there!

Wolverine cancels ProgPower UK

2007-09-23

It’s with very mixed feelings we have to announce that Wolverine will not be playing at ProgPower UK 2008 after all. We had really been looking forward to this show after hearing only great things about it. We do however have a really good reason for not being there. The thing is that, if all goes well, Stefan and his wife Jamina are having a child by the end of March. They just found out and are of course thrilled about this. At first we thought that we might make it to the gig anyway but since the birth then was scheduled until only 11 days before the show and it’s the first time Jamina gives birth it’s possible (and even likely) that it won’t take place until during or after the show. The option of Stefan going to the show and risking not being there when the child arrives isn’t really an option for obvious reasons.

We hope we can make it up to those of you who were looking forward to seeing us play, at a later date. Until then we’ll put all our energy into completing the next album which, so far, is taking shape pretty nicely.

We also want to express our gratitude towards the crew at ProgPower UK for being so understanding and supportive about this situation, they have really been tremendous. It just confirms all the great things people have been telling us about this festival and the people behind it.

We are really sorry to have to let our fans down by cancelling this show but at the same time we hope you understand the complexity of the situation we’re in. And as we mentioned earlier, we’ll do all we can to make it up to you! Thank you.

ProgPower UK III

2007-06-18

We are very happy to be able to announce that Wolverine will play at ProgPower UK next year, on March 29. As supporters of this band know, ProgPower holds a special place in our hearts since we've played at the European edition three times and we were actually the first band ever to play that festival. That's of course something we are proud of.

We have been wanting to play at ProgPower UK since we first heard they were doing a UK-version. Later on we have often heard what a great festival it is and how professionally the organizers handle it. It will be so nice to experience all of this ourselves and we look forward to deliver the best show we possibly can. We've played a few shows in the UK the past couple of years and we've always had a blast. We're certain this won't be an exception. Cheers!

GMF gig cancelled

2007-04-28

We are extremely sorry to have to cancel our appearance at Gothenburg Metal Festival, that was going to take place tomorrow. The reason is that Mikael has injured his left wrist by playing indoor bandy three days ago and is unable to play the guitar. According to the doctor he's not suffered any fractures but he needs a few days rest to get his wrist working properly again.

Because of the short notice it's impossible for us to get someone else to fill in. We were hoping all up until today that Mikael would get well enough to play but we have to realize now that that won't be the case.

We were so much looking forward to playing Gothenburg again (we've only played there once) and it would also be the perfect moment for us to stir up some interest for our gig there in August. We do however have to accept our surrender to the circumstances this time around.

I really hope that those of you who were going there mainly to see us play live, will go there anyway and support the metal community. It seems to be a great festival and there are plenty of great acts playing there. We need festivals like these to keep the music scene alive and well.

Wolverine would like to wish the organizers all the best with the festival! To all of you that had bought tickets to see us we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully we can make it up to you in the near future.

This whole situation confirms what I've (Stefan) always believed: Don't mix sports and music! The combination is lethal...

Wolverine returns to Gothenburg

2007-03-10

Wolverine will once again play at "Slottsskogen goes progressive" which is a small festival held each year in Gothenburg. Wolverine was actually the first band to ever play this festival back in 2000.

Wolverine has also been confirmed for Gothenburg Metal Festival to be held in april so that gig will work as a nice warm-up for the gig at Slottsskogen. More info can be found in the tour-section.

Gig cancelled

2006-11-09

We have decided to cancel the gig that we were supposed to play at Sisters (Söderhamn, Sweden) on December 8. We simply need to get together and focus on future matters such as the next album for example. Unfortunately we have to face the fact that we only got to do a handful of gigs to support Still although we had hoped for more. Sure, a gig at Sisters would mean another extra gig but on the other hand it's a gig in our hometown so we're not exactly playing to any new faces. Promotionwise it would give us nothing. However, we already have loads of ideas for the next album and we want to dive right into the process of creating it.

Still is out in Europe

2006-06-26

The day has finally come when Still is available in Europe. It's a day we've been looking forward to a long time after our latest change of label and all the trouble we went through last fall. So far Candlelight has done a terrific job for us and we couldn't be happier right now. We will now just sit back and hope that you like the new album as much as we do. Hopefully we'll see you on tour in the near future!
